Continue ReadingFall is such a wonderful time of year. You first start to feel the summer fade when the mornings and evenings cool down a bit and the sun gets a little lower in the sky.
Did you know that the average American eats 100 grams of sugar a day? It takes some comparison to make sense of that number: the American Heart Association recommends that women eat 25 grams a day and men consume around 37 grams.
We could talk all day about the benefits of exercise. A longer life. Lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
I get most excited about a few things come autumn: long runs surrounded by changing leaves, the emergence of heavier fall produce perfect for homemade soups, and slightly cooler weather that allows me to bring out my sweater dresses, chunky knits, and of course, new shoes.
You head to the grocery store or out to eat with the best of intentions. You know eating well – namely plants and protein – makes you feel good, increases your longevity, and keeps your energy up.
How often have you enjoyed a beautiful body of water this summer? Up here in New England, summer is practically synonymous with water;
If you have a garden, you are well aware that summer produce is absolutely teeming right now. Even if you don’t grow produce at your home, it’s evident in local farmers markets and grocery stores that fruits and veggies are at an all-time high this time of year – and we love every second of it.
Ahh, summertime. That glorious time of year when we step into the great outdoors with fervor and excitement. When the weather is nice, it’s impossible not to facilitate experiences – restaurant patios, walks around the neighborhood, gardening galore – where you get to enjoy comfortable temperatures and warm sunshine.
What activities have you been doing with your family this summer? Every year when the summer hits, we always try to make a list of all those warm weather activities that we want to get in before the season’s over.
The warmer weather allows us to be outside all the time – and boy do we adore it. Being surrounded by lush greenery, the blazing sunshine, and fresh summer air just feels good.
